Blackmagic released new operating system for URSA Mini

Latin America. Blackmagic Design announced the availability of a new operating system for the URSA Mini model. This update improves image stability when using EF lenses and optimizes lens control, as well as providing additional options for the focus indicator, among other innovative features. The beta 2 version of the Camera 4.0 program can be downloaded for free from the Blackmagic Design website.

Since its launch last month, the new operating system for the URSA Mini model has been extraordinarily well received. Blackmagic Design engineers used user feedback to implement tweaks and add more features.

The new version offers the possibility of stabilizing the image by using EF lenses and improves compatibility with lenses of this type developed by Sigma. On the other hand, it offers optimized levels for the focus indicator and allows greater control over Cabrio PL models when using the 12-pin connector. It should also be noted that the start time of the camera has been reduced, and it is possible to play a wider variety of formats.

"The response from the community following the release of the first beta has been phenomenal. We greatly appreciate the positive feedback and are working to add the requested benefits. The combination of the URSA Mini model with this extraordinary operating system facilitates the use of the camera and allows to offer a host of innovative tools. This gives the possibility to develop creativity, and we can't wait to see the incredible images that users will be able to capture," said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design.

About the new operating system for the URSA Mini model
The new operating system is a novelty in the field of digital cinematography and facilitates the use of the camera manufactured by the company. Complicated menus with a huge number of hard-to-find buttons and settings have been eliminated, replacing them with a modern and elegant interface that puts the most frequently used functions at your fingertips. For example, on-screen options significantly reduce the number of steps required to configure different features.

In this way, users have the possibility to quickly modify various parameters, such as the photographic sensitivity scale, white balance, shutter angle and aperture of the diaphragm. One of the highlights of this release is that it provides the opportunity to toggle between different settings, in order to test different combinations of values on the fly. Also, the new update allows you to save certain settings on memory cards and apply them to multiple cameras when shooting in different conditions.

On the other hand, this version includes controls to modify the hue and customize the white balance. In addition, the selection of the shutter angle is facilitated by means of an on-screen keyboard that allows you to enter numbers more quickly. In this sense, the new operating system even suggests the most appropriate parameters to eliminate flicker in the image, thus simplifying the work of the cameraman. These values are automatically calculated from the frame rate and the power supply network used (50 or 60 Hz).

The beta version 2 of the Camera 4.0 program for the URSA Mini can be downloaded for free from the Blackmagic Design website.
