Threats and opportunities for the industry

They always say that an opportunity is born from a threat, and I hope that Netflix's announced entry into Latin America will be one of the second and that we are prepared to face what is coming.

Let's face it, it's best to watch movies you like, not just any movie and in many cases repeated several times.

 

The arrival of Netflix will be not only a new competitor, but a competitor for two areas, the Network and TV, with an unlimited offer of movies and series at a very low cost, although if they implement the physical DVD purchase system I do not know how much it works with the mail systems that exist in the region, which can take a long time to fulfill their task.

Netflix content will reach computers, mobile devices, video game consoles, in addition to being able to have a connection to the TV, which means that the channels must, whether they want to or not, start getting fully into this area of technology, because otherwise they will be left behind.

We have to be clear about something, and that is that those who will really suffer with this incursion into the region will be the small competitors, because the large channels are already allying with this company to transmit its different series, novels, programs and so on.

To name a few there are Caracol, Azteca, Televisa, CBS, Telefe Internacional... they have known how to take advantage of the moment, but I think it does not conclude here, there are many more aspects to consider that will impact the industry and make it have another important change in a very short time.

But will it be profitable?, will it fulfill its purpose?, how will it really affect the industry?, how does copyright influence this purpose?, will Latino users pay for this having other pirate pages that offer them the same? There are many unknowns and I think you have many different appreciations than mine, so I invite you to tell me what you think.
