Let's face it, piracy, smuggling and downloads on the Internet affect us a lot.
Not only do they affect musicians, filmmakers, producers, broadcasters, television stations, but also anyone who develops artistic, intellectual material, etc., is harmed by piracy and the lack of regulations and laws for it, mainly on the Internet.
There has always been piracy, we can not blame it on the Internet, but we can say that with the arrival of it has increased and is increasingly common.
Copyright contemplates different types of works that are subject to protection in traditional media, but today the Internet has allowed this practice to be scarce, so Creative Commons become essential at the time of publishing content.
Around the world there are organizations such as Asipi (Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property), the World Industrial Property Organization (WIPO), the National Copyright Institute of Mexico, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Argentine Society of Authors and Composers (Sadaic), the National Copyright Directorate of Colombia, among others, that seek to regulate the use, distribution and copying of works.
In Colombia, for example, the draft law on copyright presented by the Ministry of the Interior and Justice has aroused various opinions such as this: "when could an Internet user go to prison? when you publish and profit from copyrighted content.
The problem occurs when a protected work is digitized and uploaded to the network without prior authorization. The logic of street piracy would apply: those who manufacture and sell are punished, but not those who buy."
If this project passes, this regulation will occur in Colombia, but if the content is not digitized in this country but in another? So we will have to apply Creative Commons to everything?
We know that there are thousands of laws in real life that although they exist are not applied, but in the virtual nothing is applied, starting because the laws on the use of the Internet and its derivatives is not regulated in most Latin countries, would we then have to enter to propose new forms of regulation and global copyright?
