Colombia. In December 2023, the Qparts company celebrated its 15 years in the market. That commemoration was the starting point for a growth plan that included a change of image, the opening of a specialized store and new brands in its portfolio.
TVyVideo+Radio spoke with Julián Castaño, manager of Qparts, who told details of this plan: "In December of last year, we relaunched the brand, with a complete rebranding that included a new logo, an improved website, more affordable with our brands, with the latest launches and since that same month we are launching a store with all our brands for the market specialized in the production of audiovisual content."
The purpose of the store is to make it easier for customers and those who are interested in new technologies, so that they can try the equipment before buying it, to have the opportunity to make measurements, to compare which are the brands and equipment that are on the market. The place is a space designed as a showroom, has a stock of products, and is open to the public permanently.
Qparts today has two defined business lines, one is the lighting business line and the other is the cabling and connectivity business. The company was born with brands such as Belden and Osram. Then, in 2018, came lighting brands such as Nanlux and Nanlite. Around that time they began working with Astera and have complemented that lighting portfolio with batteries, digital cinematography lenses or optics for digital cinematography.
The most recent are Exalux, which develops wireless DMX lighting control systems, and Gutec, which has rigid, waterproof cases for the transport of equipment and technology for film and television.
Juan Castaño added that "When there is an ongoing production of any kind that has to do with television or cinema, many times consumption elements are required that run out quickly. That is why we have this new specialized store, they can come at the last minute or during filming for the equipment they require."
The new Qparts store has also served for training and certification on the brands they represent. A few weeks ago, they had a certification with Astera's customers.
"The store has had a very interesting reception, we really have many visits, people are attracted by the possibility of having a space that has no reference. In addition, we have a close relationship with brands that we handle, which are not normally exhibited in another store, all our customers can be sure that the product we have here is the most economical nationwide, and of all our brands we have support and maintenance," concluded Julián Castaño.
