Latin America. GatesAir announced the launch of GatesAir Care, an enhanced managed services program that addresses the urgent need for qualified RF resources and services in the global broadcast industry.
Available immediately, the GatesAir Care program offers service level agreements defined in three-tier support plans (Elite, Signature, Standard) that together aim to fill the ever-widening gaps in engineering skills as experienced RF engineers approach retirement.
The number of services included increases with each tier, starting with simple extended warranties, discounted parts, and preventative maintenance visits to keep transmitters and associated RF systems in excellent operating condition. Additional services are available with each tier, which may include installation and commissioning, 24/7 remote monitoring and maintenance, and on-site live technical support for major broadcast events.
"Most young engineers entering the business today possess a strong IT skill set, but have limited or no RF experience," said Raymond Miklius, vice president of technology at GatesAir. "We developed GatesAir Care to ease concerns about finding trained engineers to care for RF systems and plants as veteran radio and television engineers reduce their hours and eventually retire."
All three levels of programs can also be tailored to the size of the broadcaster, including dedicated services in smaller markets that require especially few engineering resources. GatesAir Care will also offer options for the deployment of crisis teams and disaster recovery services in the event of severe weather or other unforeseen events that require immediate attention.
GatesAir will also offer beginner and advanced RF training courses aligned with the GatesAir Care program to help younger broadcast engineers strengthen their RF skills.
