Peru. In May, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, dismantled dozens of illegal broadcasting systems that had been operating in the regions of Arequipa, Junín and Cajamarca.
They also seized 109 telecommunications equipment that had been working illegally, through sound broadcasting services in Medium Wave (OM) and Frequency Modulation (FM).
In Arequipa, equipment was seized from stations operating under the names Radio Juventud and Radio Las Vegas.
In Junín, the intervened stations operated under the names of Radio Pasión, Radio Inka Sat, Radio Súper Mega Fiesta, Radio Vida, and Radio Acolla.
In Cajamarca, they seized stations called Frecuencia , Radio Frecuencia Mix, Radio Cajamarca, Radio Cristiana el Tambo, Radio San Juan, Radio Cristiana el Tambo, Radio Tropicana and Radio San Fernando.
The unexpected operations will continue in different areas of the country, with emphasis on those with the highest number of incidents associated with the alleged crime of aggravated theft of the radio spectrum. To this end, multisectoral work is carried out with the National Police of Peru, the Public Ministry and other institutions.
