Latin America. AEQ presented its new development for this year 2023, the Phoenix Venus 4 audio encoder. This new dual stationary audiocodec for point-to-point links stands out for having IP connectivity and two simultaneous bidirectional stereo transmissions with different formats and qualities.
In addition, it has SIP protocol and NB/ACIP standard of the EBU, as well as OPUS algorithms (configuration and remote control aid tools). Venus 4 goes on the market with two hardware versions: one with front control panel and another more basic, with status indicators of networks and communications.
Both versions have analog inputs and outputs balanced by XLR connectors and dedicated connectors for AES/EBU digital I/O. Triple network port, dual RS232 data auxiliary link and redundant power supply. Available version with 48-volt DC sources and optional IP DANTE / AES 67 local audio inputs and outputs.
There is a friendly graphic window for configuration and another operation window that allows you to work with it as if we were facing a front control panel, choosing coding modes, connection modes and establishing or ending calls.
Both the configuration and basic operation functions are presented in an accessible and intuitive way.
