Brazil. The Brazilian network TV Anhanguera has modernized and streamlined its operations with Pebble's technology. The broadcaster chose a solution consisting of Pebble Automation, Pebble Integrated Channel and Pebble Remote to orchestrate the Master Control of its pioneering centralized broadcast architecture.
TV Anhanguera, based in Goiânia, capital of the Brazilian state of Goiás, is part of the media conglomerate Grupo Jaime Câmara. It operates 11 television channels, all affiliated with TV Globo, the largest free-to-air television network in the region. Faced with the end of life of its legacy servers, TV Anhanguera commissioned local system integrator Videodata to find and supply a solution to automate the custom broadcast of multiple individual stations from its central facilities.
"The renovation of our master control infrastructure was part of a broader plan to improve operations and optimize costs throughout the organization," explained Luis Duarte, Chief Technology Officer of TV Anhanguera. "With the support of Videodata, we chose to implement a Pebble solution because they were able to meet several of our key criteria. We wanted to implement centralized broadcasting from one facility, keeping each channel independent for our audiences. To do this, we needed flexibility and ease of operation for the user and, of course, it had to be highly redundant. Pebble met all these requirements and more."
The distributed architecture of the Pebble Automation platform allows TV Anhanguera to make resources and content more flexible and adapted, and is built around a powerful centralized ingestion, content management and multichannel solution. The Pebble Integrated Channel software-defined solution offers unparalleled signal processing capability and all the functionality needed to customize channels with multiple content formats, complex graphics, and live inserts. The powerful Pebble Remote tool allows Anhanguera TV operators to securely monitor, manage and control their channels from inside or outside the normal broadcast environment.
Integrated by Videodata, with commercial hardware and local support in a highly reliable and extremely cost-effective duplicate environment, the solution provides reliable and secure redundancy. The main playlist is fully duplicated and the seven main channels are protected by three backup channels.
"We are delighted to have successfully launched and installed another innovative set of Pebble solutions for another television network in Brazil," said Videodata CEO Rosalvo Carvalho. "The extensive experience and expertise of Pebble and Videodata combined give broadcasters in the region confidence that we can deliver future-proof systems that streamline workflows, offering unprecedented flexibility, with a much more sophisticated set of tools."
David Kicks, Pebble's Vice President of Sales for the Americas, commented, "We are proud that broadcasters like TV Anhanguera entrust the automation of their playout operations to Pebble. Our rigorous approach to understanding their workflows, our drive for continuous improvement, and our focus on delivering brilliant exceptional solutions make it easy to choose Pebble."
