Dominican Republic. The Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, was the scene of the sports match that brought together the best baseball teams from Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
Sertel, LiveU's partner in the Dominican Republic, met the demand for transmission services, data and connectivity required by the media attending the sports fair, which came from Colombia, Puerto Rico, Panama, Mexico and the United States.
The Challenge
Nine international media arrived in the Dominican Republic with their sports commentators, reporters and crews and needed a solid and experienced live broadcast structure.
"The biggest concern of the attending broadcasters were the extensive broadcast days: 12 hours a day for 10 consecutive days, with small breaks between one game and another," said Charles Sánchez, president Sertel.
To respond to the technical and logistical challenge of the 2022 Caribbean Series, Sertel used LiveU portable units and the LiveU Matrix platform for the ingestion of live video from all cameras arranged on the baseball field to the control room.
"We guarantee the quality of the video, the low latency of the signal and immediate response to the requirements of our international customers who arrived in search of world level production and we provide it with the support of LiveU technology," said Charles Sánchez.
The Result
120 hours of transmission over 10 days through nine international media highlighted in Santo Domingo was the final result of an extensive sports day broadcast live with all its details, from the field of play and in broadcast booths of commentators.
"The 2022 Caribbean Series confirmed the strength of LiveU's live streaming solutions. The human team of more than 35 people led by Sertel shows the responsiveness of LiveU partners to the growing demands of our customers" José Luis Reyes, VP of LiveU Latam.
