Latin America. TVyVideo+Radio regrets to report that Ralph Messana, the renowned executive for the Latin American broadcast market, died on Monday, October 18.
Ralph Messana was born in New York, but for some years he was based in the Dominican Republic, where he died. In his professional career he had led the Latin market for companies such as Newtek, Datavideo and currently served as vice president for Latam of Broadcast USA.
Friends of Ralph Messana with whom TVyVideo+Radio was able to speak, highlighted his knowledge of the Latin market, and that he visited places and markets considered small for the industry. In those tours he made a great network of partners, partners and friends.
He also influenced the field of new technologies in Latin America. He was one of the first to talk about streaming and IP, when few knew about those developments, and pointed out categorically that they were the future of the industry.
In addition to technology, his other passion was music. He played guitar and was part of some musical bands.
