Colombia. The CRC presented the results of the study "Monitoring of Technological and Consumer Trends-2021", which provides a prospective vision of the ICT, Postal and Audiovisual sectors under a scenario that presents as the main reference the health emergency of COVID-19, allowing to know the structural changes that are coming in the trends of consumers and service offers.

According to the document, during the year 2020 the users of social networks reached 4.2 billion, also making mobile devices the first screen, achieving an accelerated growth in the adoption of technology and the use of social media.

In terms of market growth from innovative and disruptive developments, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data, Blockchain, 3D printing, robotics, drones, gene editing, 5G, nanotechnology and solar energy technologies (solar PV) represent a market of 350 trillion DOLLARS and that figure is expected to increase to 3.2 trillion USD in 2025, which represents a compound annual growth of 55.7% over a period of 5 years, this projection indicates that this market will reach 9.1 times the current size.

Some of the most outstanding projections:
Prospects in Telecommunications
Fiber optics will grow at a rate of 8.5% in the coming years, reaching approximately $7.25 billion by 2025 globally.
- It is projected that 6G will be 50 times faster than 5G and commercially this technology will be accessed in 2030.
- The satellite connectivity industry will have a significant growth of 13.09% based on values during the forecast period from 2020 to 2027.

Trends in the Audiovisual Sector
In 2020 the US television audience remained static, however, the growth of streaming video was from 58% to 63%.
Netflix increased 10% home-sharing viewing on an established TV by 56% during the pandemic lockdown, while joint YouTube viewing on a TV increased from 32% to 36%.
- There is already content that can be viewed in 8K resolution, and that amount will likely increase in the coming years. The cost of entry-level 8K TVs should drop to about US$1,500 by the end of 2021

Perspectives of the Radio and postal sector
- The radio penetration rate for Colombia is 72.7%, while in the United States 92% of adults tune into a radio program throughout the week.
- The delivery of packages and the postal operation of a normal day during 2020 had the equivalence in number of packages and deliveries similar to a Christmas, increasing by almost 30% the deliveries of electronic commerce and electronic transactions.
- As of the Covid quarantine, in early 2020 in the city of Wuhan, robots delivered about 13,000 packages.
- Thanks to the coordinated work in the Postal sector, it was reduced by 20% in 2020. Of the carbon emissions of the sector.

Consumer Trends
- During the lockdown months of 2020 people increased shopping time on average by 44.6%, compared to 2019.
The online-to-offline (O2O) business in China will grow by 64% by the end of 2021 and the O2O of groceries will grow to 155%.
- The podcast industry has already surpassed the figure of $ 1 billion dollars in profits and it is estimated that by 2024 this value will reach $ 1.7 billion
Depression and mental health had a moderate or severe impact on 73% of the daily lives of global consumers last year.
- In Colombia, between April and June 2020, commerce by digital means grew 65.7%, which represented a monthly rate of 11% and then had negative numbers with a 19% reduction in sales.
- In Colombia the average purchase value, in January 2019 a value of $204,365 was registered and in April 2020, it was $113,690, which represented a fall of 34.7% compared to the January figure. The growth in sales by this means by the end of 2021 is expected to be 16%.
