Overcam is a software solution with artificial intelligence, powered by machine learning that enables autonomous control of robotic cameras in live sports environments, mimicking traditional camera framing to enhance productions of any budget.
The system controls multiple robotic cameras deployed around a playing field and then uses "smart tracking" to analyze key game parameters such as players and ball positions, directing the cameras to frame the scene. The initial version of the system is intended for live football, especially smaller leagues, but can also be used for other sports such as basketball.
It is based on neural networks and computer vision that automates key camera positions. It works with VIA Mind, EVS's artificial intelligence engine that integrates machine learning methods.
The system runs on a compact 2RU COTS server, which can be located on-site or in a remote operations center. On match day, no extended setup time is required. It is easily implemented and the cameras are automatically calibrated.
