International. In 2020 the company Atomos celebrates its tenth anniversary, a celebration that will be held throughout the year to show its gratitude to all those who have been part of this trip. To kick off the celebrations, it offered a discount on its 5-inch 4Kp60 HDR Ninja V recording monitor.
According to the company, over the past ten years, it has enabled hundreds of thousands of Atomos users with state-of-the-art monitoring and recording. "Today, Ninja V combines everything we've learned over the years by introducing up to 4Kp60 Apple ProRes and AVID DNxHR recording, Apple ProRes RAW recording over HDMI up to 6Kp30, high-brightness HDR display calibrated to 1000nit, modules for wireless syncing and SDI input and output and a full range of monitoring tools, all in a sturdy housing that is built for the rigors of daily production. It's a suitable choice for our first class of 2020, one we're sure will delight anyone who buys it."
Atomos' journey began when its CEO Jeromy Young launched the original Ninja HD HDMI monitor recorder a decade ago, bringing Apple ProRes recording to an affordable superior camera device that was also a monitor, unlocking much higher quality recordings from many cameras, especially DSLRs. He also turned Atomos into a bridge between the world of cameras and the world of computing. The top ProRes files produced made editing and post-processing much easier in programs like Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and AVID Media Composer.
He added that "We are fast forward a decade and Atomos has also led the way with a number of products and technologies that have changed the industry for the better. We brought 4K recording to mirrorless cameras for the first time with Ninja Assassin or Shogun combined with Sony's A7S. We led the way with in-camera HDR monitoring and changed the industry again when we launched Raw ProRes recording from a wide range of popular cinema cameras."
Finally, he stressed that "without the help and support of our customers, we would not be where we are today. 2020 is full of exciting new opportunities and we invite everyone to be a part of our anniversary celebrations. Stay tuned for much more of Atomos in 2020."
