Colombia. The National Television Authority, ANTV, through Resolution 0795 of June 28, 2019, postponed the analog blackout for the country, which was scheduled for December 31, 2019, until December 31, 2022.
According to what the entity indicated in that resolution, if the analog blackout had been carried out on the date that was planned, between 1.75 and 1.95 million people would not be able to continue accessing the open television service.
The entity reported that in the previous process for the issuance of this Resolution, they received 7 communications with comments on the project and supporting regulatory document. All were answered in early June.
The Resolution also states that the ANTV must define the General Plan for the Cessation of Emission, which will contain the progressive scheme for the cessation of emission, the indicators and minimum levels to be reached and a dashboard on which it will be monitored through the execution of tools and statistical exercises carried out at least once a year. This plan should be published in the first half of 2020.
