The National Cinematheque of Venezuela is a non-profit cultural institution, with legal personality and its own heritage, whose formation and establishment is sponsored by the Venezuelan State under the tutelage of the National Council of Culture. It is domiciled in the city of Caracas, but many of its actions have an impact on the national and international level.
The Objective of the Cinematheque is the rescue, preservation, conservation and dissemination of the national film collection, and the research, documentation and teaching of the country's cinematographic activity, but also seeks to become a center for the dissemination and extension of cinematographic culture to the population. n Venezuelan, especially the youngest, expanding the cultural consumption of cinema and promoting access to international film culture, with emphasis on Latin American.
